Used to warn other road users that a heavy vehicle combination exceeds standard length, giving them the information needed to judge overtaking distance and following gap correctly. Identifies the combination as a Long Vehicle, required for combinations between 22 and 30 metres.
- Meets: NHVR Vehicle Standards Guide 19 (VSG-19), under the Heavy Vehicle National Law
- Reflective sheeting: Class 400 (formerly Class 1) to AS/NZS 1906
- Lettering: black Series B(N) capitals to AS 1744, minimum 180mm high
- Fitted: on a near vertical surface at the rear of the vehicle or the last trailer in the combination, positioned centrally and clear of obstruction so it is visible to traffic approaching from behind
